PhotoEmphasis’ goal is to provide chronological story-telling and non-intrusive wedding photography in and around Rochester NY. Do not be fooled by the “two-is-better-than-one scenario” pushed by husband and wife teams; moreover, make sure the photographs you view in someone’s portfolio were actually taken by the photographer you’re thinking about hiring. PhotoEmphasis Wedding Photography covers western New York, however, will travel if the conditions are right. If you are looking for wedding, boudoir, senior pictures, engagement or post-wedding beach sessions, contact PhotoEmphasis and we will provide pricing and details. We are in the business of helping you make the most of your wedding day’s photography with minimal impact on you freeing you up to be yourself so you can enjoy your wedding day. The less interaction you have with your photographer the more realistic your wedding day portfolio will be. We encourage you to visit places like the WeddingWire and TheKnot to explore what people have said about PhotoEmphasis; perhaps more importantly, to look at other photographers’ styles to compare their work to PhotoEmphasis’ work.

Equipment is something to consider when you hire a pro. In my experience I have seen first hand many photographers using sub-standard equipment–entry level Nikon or Canon bodies and lenses sometimes without any backup gear. If you’re getting married in a church–any church–your photographer needs to use “fast lenses (high-end)” during the ceremony; without them, one of two scenarios will play out: The priest forbids use of a flash and the photographer either disregards their wishes (which results in terrible images) or no flash is used and the photos will be grainy and (or) out of focus. No one expects couples to know the technical aspects of their photographer’s equipment; choosing PhotoEmphasis completely eliminates the worry because I use all top end Nikon bodies and lenses.
